The Hand Center was founded in 1980 by Mitchel A. Lipton, M.D. It has grown to include his son, Carter B. Lipton, M.D., both of whom are board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. In addition, since its inception there has been a hand therapy department integrated into the office which gives comprehensive care to hands and the entire upper extremity.

The providers at The Hand Center, P.C. work as a team to treat complex cases. These types of problems include acute trauma involving lacerations, fractures, dislocations, and infections, as well as chronic problems including arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tendinitis.
